Practical Support

Not everyone can afford to support Connect financially, but there are many practical things, some big and some small that can, in God’s hands, make a big difference.

I am sure that when the boy handed his pack lunch to Jesus he had no idea what Jesus could and would do with it, but the answer would have been “nothing” if he had kept it to himself (John 6: 1-14).

In addition to prayer and funding, Connect needs local advocates. Could you do any of the following?

  • Tell your church all about the work of Connect and ask if they might sign up to supporting it in prayer and possibly in regular giving.
  • Run a “Connect Sunday” event in your church
  • Organise a fundraising event eg a coffee morning, a sponsored silence
  • Invite your local Connect Youth Worker to come and speak at your church (they will need to agree this with their Line Manager).
  • Join the Local Support Group (LSG) for your local Youth Worker.
  • Invite your local Connect Youth Worker for a meal / introduce them to others
  • Offer support for events that the Youth Worker is organising.

We all have something to give and in giving we often find that we are blessed.

“Connect workers are invaluable in our classroom providing us with support both academically in RS lessons but also pastoral support around the school. We would highly recommend for any school to work with them!”
