As we look back on the Spring term, it’s been a busy and rewarding season – and one we’ve felt really privileged to be part of.
Our lunch clubs have continued to attract strong interest, with the Wednesday games group still drawing great numbers, even with the recent appearance of the sun! The group now has a nice balance and has become a valued part of the weekly rhythm for the students who attend.
Our Thursday Space group has also remained steady. Whilst the numbers haven’t grown, it continues to be a meaningful space for those who come along, with plenty of honest and thoughtful conversations around faith, life and the world we live in.
Outside the classroom, we’ve been involved in several wider school events that have felt significant. Will had the opportunity to accompany a group of students to the Holocaust Memorial Day in Exeter – a humbling and important experience. Meanwhile, Dave played a key role in putting together an Easter service for the upper school, working with local churches in Crediton. This was something the school specifically asked for, and over 40 students chose to attend (including several from our Tuesday lunch club, two of whom delivered Easter readings) – it was a very positive experience all round.
This term we’ve also continued to support the delivery of Religious Studies lessons and have found ourselves increasingly involved in mentoring students – either one-to-one or in small groups. Being able to offer that space for extra support has been a real gift, and it’s clear we’re meeting a genuine need within the school community.
As we head into the summer term, we’re really grateful for your ongoing support – especially in prayer. Please pray for more opportunities to serve both the school and the wider community, and for wisdom and energy for both Dave and Will as we continue building relationships and walking alongside students.
