We’re halfway through the summer term, and our extra-curricular projects are as exciting as ever.

On Tuesdays, the Space group continues to attract a good number of young people each week to share lunch, snaffle as many biscuits as possible (mentioning no names, but you know who you are…), and engage with a ‘big question’ about faith – we’ve covered the value of truth, creation, Babel, conflict, prayer and many more, and without fail we end up with more questions than we started with by the end of the session!

Wednesdays and Fridays are led by games, with Avocado Smash and Exploding Kittens proving perennial favourites. Whilst these are essentially social groups, we find that they open up so many opportunities for conversations – some very light, but others can go very deep very quickly, and we’ve found ourselves talking about bullying, relationship issues, and even the meaning of life over a sandwich or a portion of chips.

This year, we’ve invited the Y9+ group to join us at Spree (SWYM’s weekend camp at Westpoint) and have had several positive responses, which is very exciting. Can I invite you to pray for all the young people attending Spree in June (21st-23rd), but especially our group, and perhaps even more so for those who are joining us from QE.
