As we step into the Spring term, we are thankful for the opportunities we have had to support the staff at QE, work closely with students and be a part of some exciting events.
We’ve been privileged to assist in the delivery of Religious Studies lessons. We have also been involved in events such as the school carol service (held in the local parish church), witnessing at first-hand the school and community coming together to celebrate Christmas.
Another highlight has been working alongside Year 7 students during their visits to some of Crediton’s churches. It’s been wonderful to see the students’ enthusiasm at visiting churches, and lovely hearing positive feedback around the work that Christians do in the community.
Lunch clubs have continued to be a place for connection and growth. The Tuesday lunch group (on the upper school site) is being attended by a core group of students who join us each week to eat, play games and engage in conversation around faith, identity and the bigger questions of life. This has become a space where students can feel comfortable, and these discussions have led to further conversations ranging from school life to personal experiences.
The Wednesday lunch club (on the lower school site) has also been popular, attracting over 40 students at times. This group has become a hub where students can drop-in and enjoy their lunch, play games and form new friendships.
The Thursday ‘Space’ group (lower school again) has continued to attract a core group of young people. Here we play games, eat lunch all together and engage in reflections around faith and life. Some students have even described it as ‘the highlight of their week.’ It has been great to meet a need and see the group become a place where students can truly be themselves.
As we look ahead to the rest of the term, we are always grateful for your prayers. Please pray for the continued success of our groups, particularly as we look to deepen our discussions and reflections with the Thursday Space group. We are also praying for more opportunities to serve the school and wider community, and we would appreciate your joining with us in these prayers.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
