Local Support Groups

Each area has its own Local Support Group (LSG). LSGs are comprised of active members from recognised denominations of Christian churches in the locality, who make up the backbone of Connect as volunteers. We come from many different walks of life bringing a rich variety of experience, expertise and most importantly enthusiasm for reaching out to all young people through the love of Christ.  Our local knowledge and understanding helps to drive the development of the work in the school and community.

You will soon get to know the members of your LSG as they welcome you into the area, introduce you to your accommodation and mentor, help you to find a church and your way around and oversee your timetable and expenses.

Importantly LSGs are there to:

  • listen to the Youth worker and encourage them,
  • pray for them and their work, both at the meetings and in-between,
  • dream with them about what we / they could do for the young people,
  • be involved with some of the things that they are doing,
  • share creative outreach / fundraising ideas.

“Connect workers are invaluable in our classroom providing us with support both academically in RS lessons but also pastoral support around the school. We would highly recommend for any school to work with them!”
